Carlton Fisk caught more games than any other player in history and was one of the greatest players behind the plate and in front of it. He won a Gold Glove award in 1972 and ended his career with 376 career homeruns, 351 as a catcher. In Game Six of the 1975 World Series at the top of the 12th inning, Fisk stepped up to bat for the Boston Red Sox, swung toward the Green Monster and knocked one into left. Fisk jumped and waved the ball fair as he ran the bases in what is without question one of the greatest moments in baseball. The ball was fair, and it gave the Red Sox a 7-6 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, forcing a seventh game. The Sox lost it in the end, but Fisk's legendary homerun brought life to the fading Red Sox, and is immortalized at Fenway Park forever in that left field pole....
