The Federal League, which lasted a brief two years, tried to lore players away from their Major League clubs. In 1916, the Cubs benefited from the fall of the Federal League by moving into the vacated Weeghman Park, today known as Wrigley Field. Although the Cubs finished fourth, they gave National League teams trouble with the strength of their pitching staff. The 1914 Cubs pitching staff led the National League in strikeouts as well as fewest hits allowed....
